PREVIEW:
“It is too early to write off any team. We have just had two games and all the 10 teams are pretty close. A couple of wins and things will seem to have changed,” said Greg Shipperd, the Chief Coach of the Delhi Daredevils at the pre-match interview. He showed no signs of being under pressure. “It is just a matter of one match.”

He admitted that the top line needed to score. “Viru (Virender Sehwag) was unlucky to get out in the first match and anyone can get a nick early against a bowler of Shaun Tait’s pace and class. We know Viru will click. There is absolutely no doubt. He is a class act.”
“I know I have to get the runs early in the match,” admitted the skipper Sehwag himself. “We have a very good and young team. We also have experienced players."
He added, “No I am not worried. In this kind of competition, things change very quickly. Last year we won a series of matches so it can happen.”
Once Sehwag gets going in the first 10 overs, Delhi Daredevils can comfortably post a big total. It will also ease the pressure off the next few players.
The two players who have found their rhythm early in the tournament have been David Warner and Venugopal Rao. Warner, who scored a fine fifty, was a mix of caution and aggression in a very well-paced innings against Rajasthan Royals.
